If we were picked on the streets of Nigeria
And brought into a home as orphans,
Nobody would be Hausa!
Nobody would be Igbo!
Nobody would be Yoruba!
We would simply be Nigerians
Speaking one one language,
As thought by our custodians.
Nobody will be son of the Minister!
Nobody will be daughter of a civil servant!
Nobody will be children of farmers!
Nobody’s devil will be bigger,
Nobody’s angel will be smarter!
we will just know we are Nigerians
United by diversified complexity.
We will dream of a world
Where we all form a chain
And the long lost love will be the link.
