The calling justified you | Fola Daniel Adelesi, ASM, ACL, Wcc
It was the calling God gave to you that justified you. You were not called because you were justified. You were justified because you were called. When God called you for a specific purpose, the justification became necessary because He did not want anything standing in your way. He had to justify you because He did not want any accuser to have anything to hold against you.
Romans 8:30 says, Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. This verse outlines the process that God went through to get you to where you would be able to move on your own to your final destination. The first thing He did was to pre-destinate you which means to set the destination you were going in life ever before you were born and after He set your destination before time, He gave you a calling that will take you in that direction. God could have given you a pre-destination but if you did not get a calling that would lead to that destination, you would be going in another direction.
Apart from ensuring that the pre-destination and the calling lead you to the same place, one other thing that could stop you from getting to your destination by working with your calling would be the personal issues in your life, the shortcomings that you have and the weaknesses that manifest on daily basis. When our weaknesses and shortcomings are not taken care off we will not have the moral justification to do certain things including, and especially, the work of God.
In all of these, what God is saying is that your moral justification cannot carry you through my assignment because when you keep seeing my standards you will always realize your human righteousness cant stand up to it. Instead of trying to stand up to my calling, using your moral uprightness, God is saying, I pre-destinated you and called you but I am not going to leave it at that for you to get to where you are going, I am justifying you! The greater part of the process was that God did not only justify you so that you dont have to stand on your justification, God also glorified you! Wow!
I havent even started the job but I have already been glorified so I know that all I need to do is to follow the calling that leads to the pre-destination and I will be able to do that because I have been justified and glorified. The assignment God will give to some of us or what He has already given to some others is obviously so big that you know it will be foolish to rely on your ability or uprightness. You will just have to take up the justification of God to be able to get it done.
Remember you were not upright before God saw you and called you. He saw you just the way you were, pre-destinated you, called you, justified you and glorified you. It was obviously the calling over your life that brought about the justification so that the journey would be less of a burden to you. This is not a life ticket for you to misbehave on the journey and say God has justified you. You only remain justified when you uphold the righteousness of God! This means that you rever and do not take for granted even though you got it without paying the price yourself. Stand up to your calling and uphold your justification!
