Some people have thought that they will need only the wisdom they get from their schools to excel in life. As much as you need the wisdom given within the four walls of the school, you need to know that you will need much more than the wisdom you can get within the school system to excel in life. You can be in a situation where the wisdom needed is spiritual wisdom and not intellectual wisdom that you can easily get from the schools. If you rely only on intellectual wisdom to excel in life you will fail terribly. This is so because there are various aspects of life and you cannot pick just one to run with. You need all round wisdom.
You are going to need wisdom for your finances, marriage, businesses, academic work, career, relationship with other people around you and even wisdom to live day by day. I like something that happened in the days of Jesus as recorded in the Bible. You know so well that there were Pharisees and Saducees before Jesus came. These were the custodians of the law. They have been to the best of schools and they know all that needs to be known. They have used their knowledge or wisdom to intimidate so many people and in some other cases confuse people.
In John chapter 7 verse 15 the Bible says, ‘The Jews were astonished. They said, How is it that this man has learning (is so versed in the sacred Scriptures and in theology) when He has never studied? (Amplified version). Bible in Basic English puts it this way ‘Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.’ The people who presented themselves as the most knowledgeable people were confounded about how someone who has not been to their school could know as much as they did and eve more. They said he was not learned but he spoke as though he was learned. They never expected ordinary people to know the things that Jesus knew and confidently taught the people.
Guess what, Jesus did not just keep quiet. He answered them and his answer is in verse 16 of that same chapter 7. Amplified Bible puts his answer this way, ‘Jesus answered them by saying, My teaching is not my own, but His Who sent me. 17. If any man desires to do his will (God’s pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from myself and of my own accord and on my own authority.
I think I can say that Jesus was simply saying if God sent you to do something, He will also give you amazing wisdom concerning that thing. It will be wisdom beyond the walls of your school or any other one around. It will not mater what other people have known before you. When you speak you will still stand out. Your voice will be different. You will spill out uncommon wisdom. Even professors will look at you and marvel. That was what happened to Jesus and definite it can happen to you as when. But you will remember that Jesus said the wisdom is not his own but of his father.
You need uncommon wisdom that will make the people in your generation look at you and marvel. They must be willing to come to you all the time to listen to you in the field that you say you have been called to. That means you have to become and authority in that field and it will take God for you to operate in that kind of wisdom.
Ask God to release to you that great wisdom to you today and begin to operate in it from today!
